Lycksele is situated on the Ume River and along the Blue Highway in southern Lapland, 130 kilometres from Umeå. The municipality has ca 12 500 inhabitants, of which a little more than 8 000 live in urban Lycksele. We can offer good communications within and outside the region by daily direct flights to and from Stockholm or coach/train. Here in Lycksele you will find a wide variety of leisure and culture activities and a well-developed entertainment and club life which will facilitate the making of new contacts.
Lycksele Learning Centre is situated in Medborgarhuset (a civic centre). On the same premises you will also find Umeå University in Lycksele and the municipal library. Here you will have access to e.g. classrooms, computer rooms, a video conference studio and library service. A local competence council has been formed in Lycksele for the provision and development of competence on all levels and within various areas.
