Akademi Norr 10 years old! |

In connection with the board meeting in Sollefteå on June 17, attention was paid to the fact that the Partnership Inland municipal federation - Akademi Norr - is celebrating its 10-year jubilee. It was founded in Kramfors in June 2000, when political representatives for thirteen municipalities took part in the inaugural meeting.

The formation was made after a pre-study had been carried out. After an analysis of the need of academic education in the region it was stated that there were great requirements for this in order to maintain high quality of the basic service in the municipalities, and at the same time the shortage of academic skills in the community as a whole would mean that trade & industry would not develop in an optimal way in the long run.
The ten-year jubilee was celebrated with a seminar day, where those taking part threw light upon the formation of Akademi Norr, what had happened and is happening as well as reflections from researchers and cooperation partners. The celebration ended with a joint formal dinner for guests and participants. |

Evaluation reports have been made by external consultants during the period. Excerpt from one of them - "Evaluation report Akademi Norr" which has been carried out by Gorpe Research AB:
"Akademi Norr has been important by strengthening the position of the member municipalities from many aspects.. Such important aspects are e.g. that competence development and higher education has become a strategic issue for the municipalities and their managements. The Akademi Norr member municipalities have also strengthened their position not only vis à vis universities and colleges (suppliers of education) but also to the large regional and national structures (the big coastal municipalities, the county capitals and the county administrative bodies). Akademi Norr has also contributed to the municipalities getting an increased number of modes of action via their cross county border cooperation."
