New studio environment to be developed at Hemavan
Akademi Norr is the owner of the Norwegian-Swedish project Crossmedia Design Norr, which has been granted SEK 1.6 million from Interreg IIIA Kvarken-MittSkandia. The total budget of the project is SEK 5 million, including SEK 3.3 million for the Swedish part and SEK 1.7 for the Norwegian part.
Thanks to the development of digital media businesses like TV, film, advertising, Internet, mobile telephony and computer games cooperate more and more. New products and services are being developed. The aim of the project is to strengthen and develop a Nordic competence region within the digital media area, called crossmedia design.
Within the project a decentralized and well-developed studio environmentI will be built up at Hemavan. The basis for a master's programme will also be developed, e.g. through the establishment of a research programme within crossmedia design. Akademi Norr thus widens its activity area, and new opportunities will be created for young people who wish to live in the high mountain region.
Cooperation partners are the Department for Informatics at Umeå University, The Municipality of Storuman, OK Sør of Helgeland, the National Library at Mo i Rana and NTNU in Trondheim.
Further information om the project will be given by development manager Johnny Högberg, 0960-15724,
