During 2009 Akademi Norr is running an innovative project within the Interreg programme Botnia-Atlantica. The aim of the project is to make an inventory of resources and need of media technology in order the strengthen the tourism trade and producers of information material and services in Southern Helgeland and the parts of Akademi Norr bordering on Norway. Project partners are Umeå University Torgar Näringshage A/S and NTNU.

Project objectives:

  • To make an inventory of resources within the media area with the ambition of developing a virtual Helgeland and Lapland on the web.
  • To investigate what efforts are being made or have been implemented and make use of them.
  • To evaluate solutions for alternative uses of digital cinema for travel life presentations but also for the transmission of e.g. sports events, conferences, concerts etc.
  • Concept develoment and prototype testing of a number of cross media solutions for tourism.
  • To arrange seminars and short courses for operators, users and producers in order to identify partnerships within the whole Botnia-Atlantica area.
  • To work out an establishment project based on identified needs and requirements.

Project budget:
The Swedish budget is 128 000 and the Norwegian one NOK 570 000.
